Nerds&Nails: Cersei Lannister (Game of Thrones) Funko Pop!

The wait is finally over. Season 4 of Game of Thrones airs tonight on HBO! To celebrate, Talking Tiny Toys is teaming up with ProcrastiNails to bring you the first installment of Nerds&Nails. What is Nerds&Nails, you ask? Katherine from ProcrastiNails and I will be teaming up to bring you a little more. I'll be reviewing toys and Katherine will create a manicure look inspired by them. Think of it as a way to keep our creativity flowing. First up, the sometimes scheming and ever fabulous Cersei Lannister.

Cersei Lannister (played by Lena Headey) is the widow of Robert Baratheon, mother of King Joffrey, and adversary of Margaery Tyrell. She's sassy, cynical, and always looking for an angle (though she may be in over he head). Her Funk Pop! was released in wave #2 along side her brother/love Jaime.

Her long, wavy, Lannister blond hair hangs down past her shoulders and is sculpted into one of her simpler hairstyles. Braids are pulled from either side of her head and fastened with a gold tie. The generic Funko head has been given exaggerated lashes, light brown brows and manages to capture a bit of Cersei's arrogant demeanor.

This Funko is wearing one of Cersei's iconic dressed in the Lannister red and gold. It's cinched at the waist with a two-tiered belt and her billowing sleeves are trimmed in the same colour. Her hands rest on her hips. The dress itself is a simple v-neck but has some beautiful gold detailing around the collar and sleeves. Cersei is also wearing a gold ring on each hand and a gold medallion around her neck. The painting is pretty good on this one, though her dress bleeds into her hands, and I've managed to chip her nose. I was elated that, unlike the Dany figure in wave #1, Cersei stands up perfectly well. Instead of feet, she balances on the pooling of her dress, and it counterbalances the weight of her head nicely.

All in all, she's a well designed figure with a good look, and a great addition to my Funko Collection. All I need now is wave #3's Tywin and I'll have the entire Lannister clan.

Lannisters always pay their debts and usually look good doing it. ProcrastiNails has decided to turn Cersei's gown into an elegant maniperfect for any lion.

ProcrastiNails Preview: ProcrastiNails is really excited to be collaborating with Talking Tiny Toys for our new feature: Nerds&Nails! My design today is a sister design for my Dany one from 2012. They both used the same saran wrap sponging technique and both are modern inspirations of the characters rather than direct or literal representations. My Cersei design started off with a couple coats of Revlon Valentine (a wonderfully regal deep red) and then I did all the accents with Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold. What we're left with is a sophisticated yet lethal look that any Queen would be proud to boast.
